A fairly early start to the day saw me making my way to Loughrigg Fell.
I had never visited this location before, and was looking forward to a bit of hill walking.
Shortly after leaving my car behind, I started my ascent, however in my dimly lit environment I got slightly lost which resulted in me making a mad scramble through thick ferns and brambles to find my location before sunrise.
I arrived at my destination with 10 minutes to spare.
I framed my shot while still trying to catch my breath from the climb up, and as I looked through my viewfinder the sun crept over the horizon and began to light up the surrounding landscape.
It was truly beautiful.
